The onset of biting winds, rock hard ground, frozen feet and runny noses could only mean one thing: it was time for the annual Keynsham A.A. Christmas Match! Finding the fish was made difficult by the cold easterly wind with only six of the seventeen anglers weighing in.
Matt Smith landed a 17lb 14 oz Carp from peg 2 of the Old Pond to take the George Bingham Shield in this 'Battle Of The Ponds' event. Rob Lansdown was runner-up with a 15lb fish from the peg next door. Mike Taylor claimed the 'bronze medal' with 1lb 10oz from the Island Pond. Well done to all those who entered for braving the hostile conditions and thanks to Phil and Ian for organising the contest.
