The eagle-eyed among you will have spotted that Mike Ewins is no longer Honorary Secretary following his resignation at the December Committee meeting. Mike has donated a huge amount of time to the Club during the last 4 years and his input will be greatly missed. Jason Allen is now acting Secretary until further notice.

The Association's new stretch of the River Chew at Chewton Keynsham - Field 75 - will now be known as "Chewton Meadow", not "Uplands 15 Acre" as previously reported. This follows the unearthing of the field's traditional name in the book "Chewton Keynsham - A Millenium Book By Chewton Folk". The working party scheduled for Sunday 11th December at Chewton Meadow has been switched to Century Ponds, commencing at 1pm after the shoot.

The following day a double-figure Common Carp was found dead in the Old Pond.
The Club Secretary has asked for any anglers present on Saturday who may have witnessed the occurences to contact 07973 736519. All calls will be treated with the strictest confidentiality. Keynsham A.A. will not tolerate this kind of behaviour on Club waters. Lifetime bans will be issued to the culprits and to any subsequent rule-breakers. Junior Members must be accompanied by an Adult Member when fishing at Century Ponds.

Please note that Century Old Pond will be closed all day on Saturday 3rd September in readiness for the second All-Night Carp Match. The Island Pond will be open as usual. Due to a general lack of interest from Members, the remaining Matches on the River Chew have been cancelled, except the Christmas Match and the All-Night Carp Matches at Century Ponds.
The sport at Century Ponds continues to improve, with numerous upper doubles and a few twenties making themselves known from the Old Pond. Corn still seems to be the bait of choice. Crucians, Roach and Tench have been showing from the Island Pond, which is still suffering from low levels. The floating bait ban has now been lifted.
19th Jul 2005 • Another 20-Pounder Shows Up, Match Result, River Chew Site
Century Ponds continues to produce quality fish as the summer progresses, with a 21lb 14oz specimen showing up twice in the last few weeks. The Island Pond continues to produce quality Roach to nearly 2lb, Bream to 3lb and a good showing of Crucians and Tench, despite the low water level. The Club intends to permanently fix the leak in the autumn. Don't forget that there is now a dedicated River Chew website up and running for those who are interested. The floating bait ban is still in force at Century Ponds.
Anglers must vacate the venue no later than 10pm.

Sport has improved at Century Ponds over the last few weeks, with numerous Carp to 20lb 3oz landed from the Old Pond. Upper singles have been showing in the Island Pond, along with good numbers of Skimmers to 2lb, Roach, Crucians and Tench. The Tench in particular have packed on the weight since their introduction last winter.
The recent Century Match was won by Adam Denham with 12lb 7oz. Members are reminded that cars are not permitted on the banks at Century Ponds. The image above should tell you why! A floating bait ban is now on at Century in order to protect the young geese and ducks currently residing at the venue. Any Member found damaging property on any Club water will be expelled from the Association. This follows recent damage to a newly planted tree and fire damage to a platform at the Ponds.
8th Apr 2005 • Match News, Venue Report, Membership Upgrades
Sport at Century Ponds is still very unpredictable - double figure Carp have been landed from the Old Pond (see picture), with smaller Carp and Skimmers also showing. A number of larger Carp have been returned to the Island Pond, which now contains at least 6 double figure fish. Expect the Crucians and Tench to start making an appearance as soon as the water temperatures rise.
